Planned release of UnForm 7.1
Design, development, and testing of major new enhancements to be included in
the upcoming UnForm 7.1 release, tentatively scheduled for a
late
summer 2007 distribution, has been underway for almost 6 months.
Anticipated and significant new features in
UnForm 7.1 include:
Major planned enhancements for the Image Manager /
Scanning Tool:
-
Dynamic dialogs for jobs to prompt users
for info
-
Configurable database lookups at key
points, such as in dynamic dialogs and document ID prompts
-
Multi-page consolidation before upload,
to tif and possibly pdf
-
Job management of "header" pages that
are followed by other pages until a new header page
-
Stored manual assignment jobs (currently
only vbscript jobs are stored)
-
Export/Import of jobs, assignments,
database lookups to server for shared use
In addition to the scanning tool items already mentioned:
-
Archive browser interface enhancements to allow
consolidation of selected documents into single pdfs or a single
email message.
-
Enhanced archive search features, in
both the browser and command line, to take better advantage of indexes for
improved performance.
-
Desktop Delivery code block function,
along with a companion browser-based retrieval method,
allowing any file, typically a subjob pdf, to be delivered to a
user's desktop immediately or upon their next login.
-
Desktop Prompting code block function,
along with a companion browser-based interface, to allow a
HTML popup form to be served to a user while a job is
running. The job will await input or timeout, and the responses can be used
in the code block. An example for use is to allow a user to provide
document delivery information, or for a manager to manually
authorize a job.
-
Rule file security, optionally requiring
a user login from the design tool, and an ability to encrypt rule
files.
Under review for possible inclusion in the 7.1 release:
There will be a number of minor enhancements, which will be documented at the
release.
While these features are largely designed or partially developed, they are
subject to change.
